A word of the President - October 21th, 2016

Dear fans,

I would like to start out this week’s letter by congratulating Kevin Romy and his wife Marine on the birth of their child this week!

Another proud moment was the first full LNA regular season game played by our goalie Christophe Bays on Tuesday in Langnau, after his double hip surgery in February 2015.  Christophe has worked hard with many ups and downs during his very lengthy and difficult recovery period.  He is an inspiration to all our injured players, and to us all, and is proof that perseverance pays off.  Bravo Christophe!

I spoke with Mike Santorelli this week who confirmed to me that contrary to what was in the media last week he does not have a Russian agent nor was he negotiating with any KHL team as was reported and quoted by some people.  Mike is recovering from his injuries, spending quality time with his family in Vancouver, and is working hard with university courses in real estate.  Mike will never forget our beautiful city and the amazing support of the fans for the team and the energy they bring the players, and wishes us all the best for rest of the season.

We are positive that with the work ethic our players have and the fighting spirit of the team that luck will come our way.  The standings continue to remain very tight and the season is still very long!  We see positives and opportunity in difficulty - we will be stronger from dealing with this adversity, and our younger players are gaining valuable experience with all our injuries.  Thank you fans for your support in the difficult times just like in the good ones!

See you tonight at the Vernets for our game against Ambri and our old friend Hans Kossmann and several former players of GSHC!  A quartet from the Golden Eagles Fan Club will be leading the public in the singing of our Geneva anthem, the Cé qu’è lainô.  For those of you who have families, don’t forget to come early starting at 18h15 to enjoy all we offer for children outside the main entrance to the rink, and in the rink in the Zone Familles during the game!

Ensemble, Toujours!
